Audiologist / Speech / Language Pathologist

An audiologist is a special professional who administers a variety of tests to determine patient’s hearing level. They also plan, direct, conduct and participate in rehabilitative programs including counseling, guidance, auditory training, lip reading and speech conservation. A speech/language pathologist also treats and provides rehabilitation and counseling for those with speech and language problems to restore or improve communicative efficiency.

Licensure, Certification, and Registration
To be eligible for licensing by the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology as a Speech-language pathologist or audiologist, the applicant must possess at least a master's degree or equivalent in the area of speech-language pathology or audiology from an approved college or university.
