Computerized Tomography Technologist (CT Tech)

One of the newer and expanding areas of medical imaging is in Computerized Axial Tomography or "CAT Scanning." Technologists operating the CAT scanner have already been registered as radiology technologists. A CAT scan takes a x-ray image of the body in horizontal sections and allows the physician to see not only bones but also soft tissue in the body in order to diagnose problems for treatment. The computer works with the x-ray machine to show an image of the body.
